Lisa McGlasson

McGlasson, Lisa Ann 55, Minneapolis, beloved wife and mother died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Initially diagnosed in 2016 with stage 2 breast cancer, went into remission, then was diagnosed again as stage 4 in May of 2019 after metastasizing in other parts of her body.

Lisa was a kind, gentle, intelligent, rational, generous, healthful and beautiful woman. If you met her, it was impossible not to like her. She moved easily through life with wide-open eyes and a giving heart and those qualities rubbed off on all, especially her husband and children.

Lisa graduated from Hopkins High School in 1983, and studied sociology and history at the U of MN. She studied abroad in Austria and was a research assistant in Berlin. Upon graduating she worked as a research analyst. Always a stylish dresser she opened Heavenly Soles shoe store in Uptown Minneapolis in the 90s. She eventually sold her ownership to her friend and business partner to spend more time with her growing family. When her children were of school age, Lisa went to work for General Mills in Golden Valley and was a senior paralegal there for the past 14 years. She also was a strategist and bookkeeper for her husband's furniture business, seeing it go from a locally known woodworking shop to a handmade furniture brand that has been sold all over the world.

Lisa is survived by her husband Scott; children Esme, Rowan, Henry; mother Mary Ann; sister Cindy; brothers Gary and Mark; many nieces, nephews and in-laws; and many dear friends. We are devastated but are grateful to have had her in our lives and joyful to live with her memory. If so inclined, in lieu of flowers, make donations to Save-A-Bulldog rescue in Minneapolis
